Touching Up Nicks & Dings on your Guitar

Secret Touchup Paint

One of the most common repairs on a guitar is paint touch-ups. If you take the guitar to a repair shop you will most likely spend over a hundred dollars. There are much easier and cost effective ways to touch up a guitar that has a solid finish.

The quickest way to touch up any scratches or dings is to get cheap bottle of nail polish that is as close to the color of the guitar as possible. This will generally fix the guitar as good as or better than if you had spent a hundred dollars.

You should be able to find a color that matches enough to cover the damage. It does not need to be perfect. It probably will not blend in completely  as you look close but it should provide sufficient coverage to make it so you eye is not immediately drawn to the damage.
